  • Those who live inside or outside of Kentucky’s Promise Zone counties have a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card by completing two surveys. The first survey is now available at https://www.facebook.com/KentuckyPromiseZone/. Participants need to “Like” The Promise Zone Facebook page to get started. The PZP project includes publishing feature stories and pictures about people and places in The Promise Zone on social media. Kentucky’s Promise Zone counties include: Bell, Clay, Harlan, Knox, Leslie, Letcher, and Whitley counties. The initiative gives the area a competitive advantage in applying for federal funding as well as additional assistance from federal agencies that oversee housing, education, economic development, agriculture and safety. Those agencies also will provide increased coordination to help the counties maximize federal and private investment.
