• It’s time for the 2016 Run for the Hills Charity Challenge! From Aug. 1 - Oct. 31. Non-profits in Perry County will be raising money to provide quality housing, medical services, literacy, arts education and programming, outdoor activities and development, economic development, STEM education, daycare, services for the homeless, care and support for animals, and youth leadership. Register for the 5k Race Saturday, October 1st in downtown Hazard. Register by September 7 to guarantee your t-shirt size. Also, if you are interested in putting together a team, registration rates drop!
  • Mark your calendars for Oktoberfest, Oct. 1 to help benefit the ARH Cancer Expansion Project and Run for the Hills. (see attachment)
  • The next Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce meeting will be held on August 23, 2016 with speaker Warren Beeler, the Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Agriculture Policy.
  • Tune into WSGS on Tuesday August 23 from 8:00am-4:00pm for Hospice Radio Day.
  • Red Cross is hosting a Home Fire Preparedness Event on August 27th, 2016 — Registration 8:30am Meet at First Presbyterian Church, 160 Broadway St, Hazard, KY 41701 (See attachment)
  • Thursdays on the Triangle is underway every other Thursday until September 1 from 6pm-8:30pm at Triangle Park in downtown Hazard. We have amazing talent and vendors signed up to perform and sell. (weather cancellations will be posted on the facebook page and radio if necessary). If you know of groups willing to sponsor, please contact us as soon as possible. It does not cost anything to be a vendor, but you must pre-register. If you are interested in participating as a vendor, musician, or artist, contact via Kristin, 606-657-1268, Thursdays on the Triangle Facebook page, or through the Chamber of Commerce.
